Police Crack Down on Miscreants Plotting Violence Under Cover of Workers, Disrupting Law and Order
Maintaining Law and Peace in the District Remains Our Topmost Priority
The standoff between workers on strike and management at the Motherson Company located in the Lalkuan area of Nainital, ongoing for some time over their demands, came to an end today, Tuesday. Following coordinated efforts and positive mediation by the district administration, labor department, and Nainital Police, the workers have decided to end their hunger strike and return to work.
1. Successful Mediation
Multiple rounds of talks were held between the police force, SDM, labor department officials, management, and workers.
2. Agreement on Demands
Out of the workers’ 14 key demands, the management has immediately accepted 12 demands. Action on the remaining 2 demands will be taken at the government level, with positive assurances provided.
3. Return to Work
Following the talks, all workers have rejoined the factory, and full operations will resume smoothly from tomorrow.
4. Appreciation for Workers’ Patience
The police administration heartily thanks all workers who demonstrated patience. During the protest, the workers maintained discipline and did not allow any law-and-order situation to arise.
The police force stands with the workers for the resolution of their legitimate demands and issues.
5. Stern Warning to Disruptive Elements
Some external miscreants were waiting in the wings to create chaos and spoil the atmosphere under the cover of workers. The police has taken major action in this regard.
Violence Plot Foiled – The unruly elements had hatched a conspiracy to cause vandalism, arson, and widespread violence in the company on the lines of Noida. Cases have been registered against 20-30 unidentified individuals under relevant sections for obstructing police work, breaking barriers, and inciting innocent laborers to violence.
Nainital Police’s Clear Message – External elements creating unrest in industrial areas will be dealt with strictly. Action under the Goonda Act and Gangster Act will also be ensured against such unruly elements.
Maintaining law and peace in the district is our topmost priority. We are committed to protecting workers’ interests, but no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands or spread violence.
