Nainital Police Honoured for Successful and Safe Management of Maa Nanda-Sunanda Mahotsav
Appreciation for effective security, traffic management, women and child safety, and lost-and-found services during the festival
Nainital: Nainital Police personnel were honoured by the Shri Ram Sevak Sabha and Temple Committee for their effective security and traffic arrangements during the Maa Nanda-Sunanda festival, which concluded peacefully and in an orderly manner.
Under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police Nainital, Dr. Manjunath T.C., the police made extensive arrangements to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees. Special attention was given to traffic management, crowd control, women and child safety, law and order, parking arrangements, and prompt response to emergencies.
Police personnel deployed during the festival remained alert on the ground and continuously monitored the movement and safety of devotees.
Police Displayed Sensitivity Alongside Security
The role of the police during the festival was not limited to maintaining law and order. Police personnel also extended assistance to devotees with a strong sense of public service and human sensitivity.
During the festival, children and elderly persons who became separated from their families were safely reunited with their relatives. Police teams also helped trace lost mobile phones, wallets, cash, keys, bags and other belongings, which were returned to their rightful owners after due verification.
These efforts provided immediate relief to devotees and further strengthened public confidence and trust in the police.
Ground-Level Vigilance and Coordination Ensured Smooth Arrangements
Police officers remained present in the field throughout the festival, regularly reviewing arrangements and taking prompt decisions whenever required. Effective coordination with various departments, the festival committee, temple committee, trade representatives and local residents helped ensure better arrangements for the safety and convenience of devotees.
Representatives of the Shri Ram Sevak Sabha, Temple Committee and Trade Association appreciated the alertness, prompt response, discipline, coordination and public-service approach of Nainital Police.

The honouring ceremony was attended by Shri Ram Sevak Sabha and Temple Committee President Manoj Shah, Vice-President Ashok Shah, General Secretary Jagdish Balwadi, Manager Vimal Chaudhary, Treasurer Vinay Chaudhary, former General Secretary Devendra Lal Shah, member Advocate Manoj Shah, member Prof. Lalit Tiwari, members Harish Rana, Mohit Lal Sah, Kailash Joshi and Sandeep Sah, and workers Virendra Mehra and Anand Bisht, along with other office-bearers and representatives.
The representatives appreciated the police efforts in security, traffic management, crowd control and public assistance during the festival and encouraged the police personnel for their dedicated service.

During the ceremony, SP Crime/Traffic Dr. Jagdish Chandra, SP Communications Revadhar Mathpal, CO Nainital Anjana Negi, CO Bhawali Ravikant Semwal, Mallital Kotwali Inspector Rajendra Singh Rawat, Mela Outpost In-charge Inspector Sunil Bisht, SI Dinesh Joshi, PRO Hema Aithani and SI Sanjeet Rathore, along with other police officers and personnel deployed during the festival, were present.The police officers expressed their gratitude to the Shri Ram Sevak Sabha, Temple Committee and Trade Association representatives for the recognition and encouragement.
