Nainital, May 1, 2026: With the tourism season kicking off and heavy crowds expected over the first weekend, Nainital Police have geared up to make traffic arrangements foolproof. SSP Dr. Manjunath TC held a crucial video conference with district officials tonight, emphasizing that tourist and local convenience is the top priority.
Key Strategic Decisions and Directives
Force Deployment from 6 AM Tomorrow: All station house officers, sub-inspectors, additional sub-inspectors, and other personnel must be at designated chowks, intersections, and ‘bottleneck’ (jam-prone) areas starting 6:00 AM tomorrow. Any slackness in duty will not be tolerated.
Officials on Road Duty: All gazetted officers will personally manage traffic on the roads.
Strict Adherence to Diversion Plan: The new district-wide diversion plan must be implemented 100%. Heavy vehicles will only be stopped at specified times and locations to avoid disrupting light vehicles.
Active Mobile Patrols: Mobile police parties will continuously patrol to tackle sudden blockages or jams.
