Haldwani, May 14, 2026: Today, the Municipal Corporation, in collaboration with LCB Fertilizer, launched a significant initiative at Gola Rokhad. Under this process, 14 metric tons of waste was converted into approximately 7 metric tons of high-quality compost using composting technology in about 25 days.
Reducing Waste Burden at Touching Ground
This effort by the Municipal Corporation will greatly help in reducing the growing piles of waste at Touching Ground. The Commissioner stated that this initiative will strengthen the cleanliness drive and provide affordable organic fertilizer to local farmers. It will not only promote environmental protection but also revolutionize waste management.
Previous Commendable Efforts
Previously, the Municipal Corporation had installed a composting machine at Jam Factory, which converts one metric ton of waste into compost in just 24 hours. These efforts are strengthening the city’s waste management system.
Municipal Corporation officials have announced plans to set up more such units in the future to make Haldwani cleaner and greener.
