Fake IB Officer Arrested While Roaming with Blue Beacon and ‘Bharat Sarkar’ Board, Airgun Seized
Nainital, September 13, 2026: Nainital Police arrested a man who was allegedly posing as an Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer and roaming in a vehicle fitted with a blue beacon and a ‘Bharat Sarkar’ board.
Acting under the direction of SSP Dr. Manjunath T.C., police teams conducted intensive checking and surveillance across the district. During the operation, the suspected fake officer was intercepted and questioned.
Police reportedly recovered an airgun, along with the blue beacon and ‘Bharat Sarkar’ board, from the vehicle. The vehicle bearing registration number UP25CS9327 has also been taken into police custody.
The accused is being questioned, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive behind impersonating a government official and to identify any possible links or involvement of others.
Police have appealed to the public to remain alert and immediately inform the authorities if anyone is found impersonating a government or security official.
