Uttarakhand Raj Bhavan Celebrates UP, Tripura, Manipur & Meghalaya Foundation Days Lok Bhawan Information Complex, Uttarakhand,,

Dehradun, January 22, 2026Under the ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat’ program, foundation day celebrations of various states were enthusiastically observed at Lok Bhawan. This week, the foundation days of Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya were marked with vibrant cultural programs presented by artists from these states, showcasing their traditions and heritage that vividly reflected India’s unity in diversity. Addressing the gathering, Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) extended heartfelt congratulations to the residents of these states. He described the event as more than a program—an opportunity to reflect on India’s soul, consciousness, cultural diversity, and future vision. He highlighted these states as strong pillars of India’s federal structure, reinforcing unity amid diversity.The Governor stressed that achieving a developed, self-reliant India and global leadership by 2047 requires strengthening national unity, harmony, and the ‘Ek Bharat’ spirit. He called India’s “unity in diversity” its greatest strength, with civilization, folk arts, music, dance, literature, and culture binding the nation together. Praising Uttar Pradesh as the epicenter of India’s cultural, historical, and spiritual ethos—from sacred sites like Ayodhya, Kashi, and Prayagraj to modern progress—the Governor lauded Tripura’s rich tribal heritage and social harmony as a prime example of unity in diversity. He hailed Manipur for its valor, courage, and sporting prowess that elevates India’s global prestige, and Meghalaya for its natural beauty, music, environmental awareness, and sustainable development model.Recounting his military service in these states as a privilege, the Governor urged every Indian to know, understand, and respect each other, affirming that India’s diversity is its true beauty. The event saw participation from Cabinet Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj, MLA Smt. Savita Kapoor, UP State Women’s Commission Vice-Chairperson Smt. Aparna Yadav, Principal Secretary to Governor Shri Ravinath Raman, and other officials alongside students from the states.,,
