Haldwani, January 12, 2026: Uttarakhand Open University’s 10th convocation ceremony concluded on Monday in a dignified and grand atmosphere. The event was presided over by the university’s Chancellor and Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh.A total of 18,146 students received undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma degrees, while 6 research scholars were awarded PhD degrees. The ceremony began with a procession, national anthem, and lighting of the lamp. The Chancellor urged students to embrace truth, discipline, duty, and social responsibility, praising the university for bringing higher education to every home through partnerships with jails, army, IIT Roorkee, and others.Dignitaries present included Vice-Chancellor Prof. Satpal Singh Bisht, Prof. P.S. Bisht, District Magistrate Lalit Mohan Joshi, Mayor Gajraj Singh Bisht, MLA Dr. Mohan Singh Bisht, and others. The event ended with a vote of thanks by the Registrar, national anthem, and a procession.
