Haldwani, A delegation of UPNL employees working at Government Medical College and Dr. Sushila Tiwari Government Hospital, Haldwani, met Haldwani MLA Sumit Hridayesh on Friday and submitted a memorandum regarding their demands.
The delegation informed the MLA that they have been serving continuously for the last 20 years, but due to non-creation of permanent posts, they have not been paid their salaries for the past five months, causing severe financial hardship. They demanded the immediate release of pending salaries and the creation of regular posts. The employees also requested the MLA to raise their issues prominently in the upcoming Monsoon Session of the Assembly.
MLA Sumit Hridayesh assured the employees that their concerns would be strongly raised during the Monsoon Session. He said, “During the COVID-19 pandemic, UPNL employees served as frontline warriors, providing exemplary service without caring for their own lives — something that will never be forgotten. I will always stand with the employees to resolve their problems.”
