Universal Convent School Celebrates National Space Day 2025 in Haldwani,

A grand celebration of National Space Day 2025 was held today at Universal Convent Senior Secondary School, Haldwani. The program was organized with support from the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India. This year’s theme is — “From Aryabhata to Gaganyaan: Infinite Possibilities from Ancient Wisdom.”
The chief guest at the event was State Minister (with special status) Shankar Koranga, while Mandi Parishad Chairman Anil Kapoor ‘Dabbu’ attended as the special guest. Scientists from ARIES Nainital, Dr. Mohit Joshi and Professor Dr. Naval Lohani, delivered presentations to students highlighting India’s achievements in space science and future prospects.
PCS officer Priyanka Joshi said, “Such events help promote scientific thinking and make national achievements accessible to every segment of society.”
Various competitions were organized for students, including poster making, speech, singing, and quiz contests.
- Poster competition winners were Chhaya, Abdul Ahad, Owais, Divyanshi, and Ankita.
- In solo singing, Aditya, Yogita, Vaibhav, Vidhi, and Kartik gave outstanding performances.
- Sakshi, Riya, Devesh, and Yogita were awarded in the speech competition.
Chief Guest Shankar Koranga, in his address, said, “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is continually reaching new heights in science and space research.” He encouraged students to adopt innovation and develop a scientific outlook.
The program’s nodal officer Anand Bisht thanked everyone for the successful event. The function was conducted by Shraddha Gururani Tiwari. Special performances included a welcome song by Shobha Charak prepared by CBC Nainital and a melodious singing performance by Sharmishta Bisht.
Artists from Kumaon Cultural Art Upliftment Committee presented various cultural programs.
