Under the zero-tolerance policy for negligence in duty and violation of traffic rules, harsh action is being taken against the police personnel.Constable Rakesh Bora, posted at Reserve Police Lines Nainital, tarnished the image of the police department by committing dereliction of duty, driving under the influence, and hitting three people near Phansi Gadhera in the Tallital area.Taking cognizance of the matter, SSP Nainital suspended the said personnel with immediate effect today, December 26, 2025, and an FIR has been registered against him under relevant sections at Tallital Police Station, with proceedings underway.SSP Nainital’s Clear Message:The police is a disciplined force. Any incident of a policeman driving under the influence of alcohol, indisciplined behavior in public places, or violating the law will not be tolerated at any level.Regardless of the rank or position of the guilty policeman, immediate strict departmental action will be taken along with registration of an FIR under relevant sections.
