Ban on Large DJs, Wheeled Lightings, and Late-Night Music After 10 PM During Wedding Season; Action to Be Taken for Violations
Nainital, November 26: With the ongoing wedding season and the increasing traffic pressure in the district, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nainital, Dr. Manjunath TC, has issued strict directions to all gazetted officers, station house officers (SHOs), outpost in-charges, and traffic inspectors to ensure a smooth, safe, and organized traffic system across the district.Due to irregular wedding processions and related arrangements, frequent traffic jams have been reported at various locations, causing inconvenience to the general public, including students and the elderly. To address this concern, the SSP has ordered stringent enforcement of regulations to maintain order and public convenience.Key Directives IssuedSpecial police monitoring will be enforced at all wedding points, banquet halls, and marriage venues.Meetings will be organized with wedding hall operators, DJ service providers, and lighting operators to ensure awareness and compliance with regulations.Large wheeled lighting structures (Jhālar) are completely prohibited; any violation will result in confiscation as per law.Only hand-held lighting equipment will be permitted during processions.The length of the wedding procession from the venue gate must not exceed 200 meters to avoid traffic obstruction.The head and tail of each procession should be disciplined and well-organized.Use of high-volume DJs and large sound systems on public roads is strictly banned.Considering public peace, especially for elders and students, no DJ or loud music shall be played after 10:00 PM.
