Satyam Diagnostic Centre Sealed in Haldwani, Ultrasound Room Locked — PCPNDT Team Conducts Surprise Inspection,,,

Haldwani: Acting on the directives of the District Magistrate Nainital and the Chief Medical Officer, a surprise inspection was carried out under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act at two diagnostic centers in Haldwani — Raghav Path Lab, Mukhani, and Satyam Diagnostic Centre, Heera Nagar.The inspection team included City Magistrate Gopal Singh Chauhan, Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sweta Bhandari, Lalit Dhondiyal, and Jagdish Chandra.During the inspection at Satyam Diagnostic Centre, Heera Nagar, several serious irregularities were found. The radiologist was absent at the time of inspection, yet records showed that 26 ultrasound slips had been issued. The staff present could not provide any satisfactory explanation. The ANC register and Form F did not bear the radiologist’s signatures. Upon asking for CCTV footage, the staff claimed that the cameras were not functioning.In view of these irregularities, the inspection team reprimanded the representatives of the center and issued a strict warning. The ultrasound room was sealed on-site until further orders, and the keys were confiscated. The center authorities have been directed to submit a written clarification within three days.Meanwhile, the documentation and arrangements at Raghav Path Lab, Mukhani, were found satisfactory during inspection.Source: Department of Medical Health and Family Welfare, District Nainital
