Protest by Pahadi Army at Buddha Park Demanding Removal of SSP Nainital Over Lawlessness in the District

Pavneet Singh bindra,,

Haldwani,,A protest was organized today at Buddha Park under the leadership of Pahadi Army Uttarakhand’s City President, Fauji Bhuvan Pandey, to demand the removal of SSP Nainital over increasing lawlessness in the district. The agitation follows the Jyoti Mer murder case, where, even after 17 days, the accused remain at large and police have failed to make any arrests.

Speakers strongly criticized the police for their brutal conduct and working style, alleging that the public seeking justice is being treated like criminals. The protesters demanded the immediate dismissal of SSP Nainital. Fauji Bhuvan Pandey stated that the action by police against Pahadi Army President Harish Rawat has hurt the community’s self-respect. He warned that if the demands are not met, the protest will continue indefinitely, and the movement will escalate to hunger strike and jail bharo agitation.

Assistant Commandant RP Singh, Himanshu Sharma, and Rajendra Kandpal emphasized the need for unity against the increasing ‘goonda raj’ (reign of hooliganism) in the district, stating that the police administration has completely failed. Social workers Deepa Pandey, Prema Mer, and Kavita Jeena voiced concerns that women and children no longer feel safe in Devbhoomi (land of the gods), citing that even 17 days after a heinous murder at home, police seem to be protecting the criminals.

Speakers expressed serious concern about the deteriorating situation in Devbhoomi, especially referencing the open lawlessness witnessed during the panchayat elections, which, they said, has brought shame to the region. They held the district administration and SSP Nainital directly responsible and demanded their immediate dismissal.

The protest saw the participation of former district panchayat candidate Deepa Pandey, Deep Pandey, Suresh Gainda, Girish Pant, Pradeep Kothari, GR Tamta, Mahesh Jeena, Veer Singh Bisht, Ayendra Sharma, Kanchan Patliya, Hemant Singh Mer, Harendra Rana, district president Mohan Kandpal, district general secretary Rajendra Kandpal, Subedar Major Dinesh Joshi, Fauji Kamlesh Jethi, youth city president Vinod Negi, Deepa Pandey, Kamlesh Khanduri, engineer Gokul Mehra, Deepak Chand Goswami, Kailash Dalakothi, Pawan Singh Jala, Prema Mer, Hema Kabdwal, Vinod Bhatt, Geeta, Kavita Jeena, Babita Joshi, Kanchan Rautela, Madan Lohia, Bhavna, Neema Bisht, Monty Bohra, Harendra Rana, Vijay Bhandari, Hema as well as hundreds of citizens.
