Misbehavior with Advocate at Police Station: Bar Association Issues 10-Day Ultimatum for Action,

Nainital. The District Bar Association has adopted a tough stance over the continued silence of the police administration in the case of alleged misbehavior with advocate Puran Singh Bisht at the Mallital police station. The Association has sent a letter to the SSP, warning that if strict action is not taken against the guilty policemen within 10 days, the Bar will be compelled to launch an agitation.

Bar Association Secretary Deepak Ruwali stated that in July, Advocate Bisht had visited the Mallital police station with a complaint letter, where policemen not only misbehaved with him but also insulted the dignity of the advocate in public. At the time, the City CO had assured action within three days, but no concrete step has been taken yet.

The Association pointed out that even in August, a memorandum was sent to the SSP regarding this issue, but the administration has not responded. The Bar Association has termed the silence and inaction of the police as condemnable, biased, and an attack on the honor of advocates, warning that if action is not taken within 10 days, the Association will be forced to take protest measures, for which the police administration will be fully responsible.
