Major Relief for Ramnagar Gypsy Drivers in Commissioner’s Public Interaction, Immediate Solutions to Citizens’ Issues

HALDWANI public interaction program held at the camp office, Commissioner and Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Deepak Rawat, approved a significant relief for gypsy drivers of Ramnagar. He granted permits for operating gypsies in areas outside the Corbett Tiger Reserve, responding positively to the demand of nearly 50 gypsy drivers from Ramnagar. This decision will provide new livelihood opportunities to local drivers and boost the tourism sector.

Besides this, the Commissioner took immediate cognizance of various citizen issues, including land disputes, electricity, water supply, domestic violence, map corrections, and increased bills due to smart meters. Regarding complaints related to smart meters, he directed the Chief Engineer of UPCL to assess the data. For a land dispute case in Sitarganj, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Rudrapur was asked to present a detailed report. The Commissioner resolved most cases on the spot and gave clear instructions for prompt action on the remaining issues.

During the event, medal winners of the state-level shooting championship, held in Dehradun from August 21 to 27, from Nainital District Rifle Association met the Commissioner. Out of 32 participants from the association, 17 won medals. The Commissioner congratulated the winners, appreciating their bright future, continuous progress, and bringing pride to the district.

In view of the continuous heavy rainfall in the Kumaon division, the Commissioner directed all district magistrates and departmental officers to remain on 24-hour alert mode. He ordered the immediate implementation of relief and rescue operations in case of any natural disaster. He appealed to the public to avoid stopping near rivers, streams, and vulnerable areas during heavy rains, refrain from unnecessary travel, and avoid unsafe mountain routes.
