Major Action by SSP Nainital Against Gang Spreading Panic Through Firing,

Nainital, SSP Nainital Prahlad Narayan Meena has taken strict action against a gang that spread terror by firing during the Betalghat Block Chief elections. Gang leader Amritpal alias Pannu, along with 16 accomplices, has been booked under the Gangster Act after the police prepared a detailed gang chart. Efforts to arrest all accused have been intensified.

According to the police, this gang was regularly involved in organized crimes such as assault, firing, attacks with sharp weapons, intimidation of the public, and robberies. An FIR No. 12/2025 under Section 2/3 of the Gangster Act has been registered against the gang at Betalghat police station. Earlier, gang leader Amritpal and other members had been named in multiple serious cases at various police stations, including attempted murder, Arms Act violations, and extortion.

The police stated that all gang members had been committing crimes in an organized manner for a long time, creating an atmosphere of fear in the region. SSP Nainital has clearly stated that criminals will not be spared, and strict action will continue under the zero-tolerance policy against crime and hooliganism.
