Intensive Enforcement Action by Transport Department in Haldwani: 87 Vehicles Challaned, 4 Vehicles Seized,

Haldwani: Under the direction of Regional Transport Officer (Enforcement and Road Safety) Dr. Gurdev Singh, the Transport Department conducted an intensive checking campaign today on the Haldwani-Lalkuan and Haldwani-Rudrapur routes. During the operation, a total of 87 vehicles were challaned, and four vehicles including tractors, pickups, and autos were seized.
The enforcement teams conducted ground-level inspections of trucks, buses, taxis, maxis, autos, e-rickshaws, cars, motorcycles, and more. The challans were issued primarily for violations such as wrong side driving, no-parking, fitness certificate issues, not wearing seatbelts, reflector and number plate irregularities, missing tax and fitness documents, and overspeeding.
Assistant Transport Officer Jitendra Sangwan, Transport Tax Officer Mrs. Aparajita Pandey, Transport Inspectors R.C. Pawar and Girish Kandpal were actively involved in the checking campaign. Officials including Chandan Dhailaa, Chandan Suyal, Anil Karki, and Prakash were also present during the enforcement action.
This operation aims to promote road safety and ensure strict compliance with traffic rules. The department plans to continue conducting such campaigns periodically to curb traffic rule violations effectively.
