Independence Day Tennis Cup 2025 to Begin in Chunakhan from August 15,

This morning, at the office of Optimum Tennis Academy, the tournament draw was conducted using a random system by Mr. Basant Joshi, retired Deputy Commandant, CRPF, Mr. Brij Mohan Singh Bisht, retired Bank Manager, and Mr. Lalit Belwal, senior advocate and former president of the High Court Bar Association, Nainital.

The fixtures and order of play will be uploaded tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. on the tournament’s official group.

The tournament will commence at 7:00 a.m. on August 15, followed by the flag hoisting ceremony at the time notified by the Government of Uttarakhand.

This prestigious tennis competition of the Kumaon region will feature some of the area’s well-known players, including:

• Prof. Amit Joshi (Kumaon University, winner of ITF Chunakhana MT100, 55+ Singles Event)
• Rajesh Kumar and Hemant Singhal (both from Rudrapur)
• D.S. Rawat and Harish Prasad (both from Haldwani)

The participation of these players had been confirmed earlier.

Hem Kumar Pandey, Secretary of the District Tennis Association, Nainital, expressed confidence that this two-day tennis tournament will greatly benefit local players of the Kumaon region by providing them valuable experience and exposure.
