Haldwani Special Two-Day Road Safety Checking Campaign: 600 Vehicles Fined,,

Haldwani. Under the guidance of Arvind Pandey, Regional Enforcement Officer, a two-day special checking campaign was conducted in the Haldwani area keeping in view the prevalence of road accidents and the importance of road safety. During the campaign, transport officials and task force teams conducted intensive inspections on various key routes including Haldwani-Rudrapur, Kaladhungi-Ramnagar, and link roads of Nainital city.

A total of 600 vehicles were fined during this operation, including 184 heavy vehicles, 202 twelve-seater vehicles, and 20 school buses. Additionally, 28 twelve-seater vehicles and 33 passenger vehicles were fined for overloading. A total of 188 two-wheelers were fined for riding without helmets, and 13 vehicles were penalized for triple-riding.

The campaign also caught a school bus driver, Prakash Chander of Kendriya Vidyalaya Haldwani, driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was handed over to Kotwali police for legal action. Several scooter and commercial vehicle drivers were also found driving under the influence and faced strict action.

Officials stated that similar special checking campaigns will be extended soon to other regions including Udham Singh Nagar, Kashipur, Tanakpur, and Ramnagar to ensure strict enforcement against traffic rule violators.

This campaign aims to raise awareness about road safety and ensure strict adherence to traffic regulations to reduce accidents and improve public safety on the roads.
