Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh Honors Uttarakhand NCC Cadets at Lok Bhawan for Republic Day Parade Participation,,
Dehradun: Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh honored Uttarakhand’s NCC cadets who participated in the Republic Day Parade at a felicitation ceremony held at Lok Bhawan.This year, a total of 172 NCC cadets from Uttarakhand took part in the Republic Day Parade on Kartavya Path in New Delhi and associated activities. Cadet Mansi Vishwakarma from Uttarakhand led the Girl Contingent as Parade Commander. Additionally, on January 28, 2026, Uttarakhand NCC cadets participated in the Prime Minister’s Rally at Kariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantt, where Senior Under Officer Cadet Utkarsh Sharma served as Parade Commander.Addressing the cadets, the Governor said that their participation in national camps and the Republic Day Parade is the result of their discipline, hard work, and dedication. Being part of such prestigious events is a matter of pride and becomes a lifelong memory. He added that the lessons from this experience inspire cadets to serve the nation and society with confidence.The Governor noted that being selected for Republic Day is the outcome of their firm determination and consistent practice. He stated that Uttarakhand’s NCC cadets stand out among others due to their excellent training and discipline. The core NCC principles of unity and discipline must be embraced lifelong, as NCC activities play a vital role in character building and personality development.Praising Girl Contingent Parade Commander Cadet Mansi Vishwakarma, the Governor said she proved on Kartavya Path that today’s Indian women are not just participants but leaders. He described her as a symbol of the strength, confidence, and capability of Uttarakhand’s daughters and an inspiration for future generations.The Governor also commended Cadet Prince Singh Rana, honored with the Raksha Mantri Padak for excellence in drone training, calling it an example of youth preparing for future warfare technology, innovation, and 21st-century security challenges.He emphasized that this is an era of technology and change, where drones, robotics, artificial intelligence, and precision warfare hold special importance. Uttarakhand’s NCC cadets have proven they excel not only in traditional military discipline but are fully capable for modern technologies and future challenges. These cadets are symbols of the nation’s valor, resolve, and leadership.During the program, NCC Directorate officials briefed the Governor on activities from cadet selection to the Republic Day events. He interacted with the cadets to learn about their experiences. NCC cadets presented captivating cultural dance performances.The Governor congratulated the NCC cadets on their achievements and extended best wishes for the future.
