District Magistrate Orders Education Reform Plan Within 10 Days to Increase Student Enrollment in Pithoragarh,
Pithoragarh, August 22, 2025 — An important meeting chaired by District Magistrate Vinod Goswami was held today at the Collectorate Auditorium with the Chief Education Officer and all Block Education Officers in attendance.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate expressed serious concern over the declining student enrollment in government schools. While reviewing the block-wise progress reports on education, he was not satisfied with the responses and expressed displeasure. The District Magistrate directed all Block Education Officers to prepare a concrete and effective education reform plan and ensure necessary actions are taken within 10 days.
He emphasized the development of cluster-based government high schools and intermediate colleges as centers of excellence. The focus will be on improving quality education alongside promoting vocational subjects, sports, and co-curricular activities, encouraging parents to enroll their children in government schools.
Additionally, the District Magistrate instructed all Block Education Officers to collect and securely maintain data, photographs, and videos of the schools in their respective blocks.
Chief Education Officer Harak Ram Kohli and all Block Education Officers were present at the meeting.
