Key issues included land disputes, fraud involving embezzlement of funds, securing jobs for dependents of the deceased, maintenance allowances, and sealing of illegal mineral storage.Strict Action on Illegal Sand and Gravel StorageCommissioner Rawat emphasized that sand and gravel storage violating norms would face immediate sealing. On a complaint about overloading, lack of CCTV cameras, and no boundary wall at a storage stock in Beripadao, he summoned the Mining Officer and DTO. He directed on-site inspections of all mineral stocks in the city, sealing those without CCTV or boundary walls, and strict action against overloading.Resolution of Pending Fraud CaseIn a long-pending case from the previous hearing, Ranikhet resident Karuna recovered part of her Rs 2 lakh embezzled by Haldwani’s Pappu Yadav. The Commissioner summoned Yadav, facilitated the return of Rs 1 lakh on the spot, and ordered the remaining amount within one month, with action if not complied.Probe into GMFX Global Limited Fraud AllegationsResidents from Satyalok Colony, Deolchaud, complained that GMFX Global Limited took funds for trademark trading but claimed heavy losses. The CEO failed to produce online balance sheets or data as directed. Commissioner Rawat ordered a thorough investigation and personally inspected the company premises post-hearing.Crackdown on Finance Company Vehicle SalesPublic complaints highlighted finance companies selling vehicles (taken on loans) to third parties without proper transfer, leaving owners liable for challans and legal issues. The Commissioner directed the Regional Transport Officer to issue notices and take legal action against such firms.Judo Tournament Results Cancelled Over Referee IssuesAt the International Stadium in Goulapar, players protested the Under-19 and Under-14 judo results, citing unqualified referees and biased decisions. Commissioner Rawat ordered the District Sports Officer to cancel the results, reschedule matches for tomorrow morning with qualified referees well-versed in rules, and ensure fair selection of players.Commissioner Rawat reiterated the commitment to prompt and transparent resolution of public issues during Janata Milan programs. He instructed all departments to take time-bound and effective action on the grievances.
