Army Jawan Saved by Doctors at Haldwani Medical College,

Haldwani, Doctors at Government Medical College, Haldwani, achieved a major success by saving the life of an Army jawan who was critically injured in a road accident.

Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Arun Joshi and leadership of Head of Surgery Department Dr. Rajeev Singh, the medical team comprising Dr. Prateek Shakya and Dr. Sunita provided intensive care to the patient.

On the evening of August 17, Havildar Kamlesh Mehta of the 15 Kumaon Regiment, currently serving with the 24 Girls NCC Battalion, Almora, was brought to Dr. Susheela Tiwari Government Hospital after sustaining severe injuries in a road accident.

At one stage, his condition deteriorated sharply — his oxygen level and pulse rate dropped to alarming levels. However, with continuous monitoring by Dr. Shakya, Dr. Sunita, and the dedicated medical staff, his condition was stabilized.

Family members expressed heartfelt gratitude, calling the hospital a “blessing” for them.

Principal Dr. Arun Joshi stated that the patient was kept under critical care and gradually recovered under constant medical supervision. Once stabilized, he was airlifted by the Army helicopter to R&R Hospital, Delhi, for advanced treatment.

This achievement highlights the dedication, teamwork, and tireless efforts of the doctors and staff at Government Medical College, Haldwani.
