Haldwani “Investigations Pending Over Three Years Are Unacceptable”
Officers Directed to Stay Active in the Field, Personally Monitor Serious Crimes — IG CCTNS Sunil Kumar Meena Emphasized Transparency and Technical Skill in PolicingA comprehensive crime review meeting was held today, October 11, 2025, at the Multipurpose Building, Haldwani, chaired by ADG Crime and Law & Order Uttarakhand, Dr. V. Murugesan. The meeting included senior police officials from Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts.Present in the meeting were IG Kumaon Nainital Smt. Riddhim Aggarwal, IG SCRB/CCTNS Shri Sunil Kumar Meena, SSP Nainital Shri Prahlad Narayan Meena, SSP Udham Singh Nagar Shri Manikant Mishra, along with all Circle Officers and other gazetted officers of both districts.Key Instructions by ADG Dr. V. MurugesanEnsure swift resolution in women-related crimes, especially in cases of abduction and sexual assault, with strict action against culprits.Achieve 100% recovery in theft, burglary, and robbery cases. SHO Kathima and Nanakmatta were warned for laxity in case work-out and recovery.Take strict measures against crimes involving vehicle theft, NDPS Act violations, and sexual offences.Expressing serious concern over investigations pending for more than three years, he ordered their immediate disposal and warned of action against negligent officers.Instructed to strengthen campaigns against illegal drug supply networks and to increase major recoveries under the NDPS Act.Directed to make helpline 1930 more effective for cybercrime victims, ensuring property recovery and enhancing technical analysis.Ordered to expedite pending investigations and constitute teams for the arrest of wanted and rewarded criminals.Directed immediate action for identification of unidentified female bodies through fingerprinting, data entry on relevant portals, and other verification processes.Emphasized transparency, accountability, and regular performance evaluation in investigation processes.ADG’s Core Message“The quality of investigation and crime control defines the police’s credibility. Officers must work with activity, transparency, and responsibility.”“Investigations pending over three years are unacceptable and must be disposed of immediately; negligence will not be tolerated.”Every Circle Officer should regularly assess the efficiency of their investigation teams, ensuring no complacency in duty.Toward Transparent and Tech-Driven PolicingFollowing the review, IG CCTNS/SCRB Shri Sunil Kumar Meena conducted a session with senior officers of both districts, reviewing activities under the CCTNS/ICJS portal.He instructed all officers to:Examine the status of CCTNS and ICJS portals daily and take timely action.Enhance their proficiency in portal operation for quick on-spot data usage.Ensure proper and updated entries in IIF forms, citizen portal, gang profiles, and other linked platforms.Regularly update records on ICJS 1.0 and 2.0 versions and related systems like Mission Vatsalya.Utilize all available technological tools in CCTNS to improve operational efficiency.Follow protocols for e-FIR filing and understand its flowchart completely.Shri Meena emphasized that “transparency and technical competence are the new dimensions of modern policing.” He urged officers to prioritize data integration, clarity, and real-time reporting.Officers PresentAmong those present were IG Kumaon Smt.
