Tight Security Arrangements in the District on Uttarayani Festival under SSP Manjunath T C Directions,,
Haldwani ,,Intensive Checking Continues, Sharp Eye on SuspectsOn the occasion of Uttarayani Festival tomorrow, January 14, 2026, comprehensive security measures have been put in place across the district to maintain peace, security, and law and order under the directions of Dr. Manjunath T.C., Senior Superintendent of Police, Nainital. Instructions have also been issued to SP Nainital Dr. Jagdish Chandra, SP Haldwani Shri Manoj Kumar Katyal, and SP Communications Rewadhar Mathpal to conduct intensive checking campaigns.Heavy police deployment has been made today at all major crowded areas, markets, fairgrounds, and sensitive locations in the district. A diversion plan has also been effectively implemented to ensure smooth traffic flow.In this regard, under the leadership of SP Nainital, SP Haldwani, and CO Haldwani, In-Charge Inspector Kotwali Haldwani Shri Vijay Mehta and other police teams are jointly conducting checking operations from Tikonia to Mangal Padav, Sadar Bazaar, Meera Bazaar, and other crowded places to further strengthen law and order. Continuous foot patrolling and area domination activities are being carried out by the police. During this time, strict vigilance is being maintained on suspicious individuals, vehicles, and activities through intensive checking campaigns. Action has been taken against 11 people under Section 81 of the Police Act for creating chaos or violating rules.Additionally, checking campaigns are continuously being conducted in all police station areas.The top priority of Nainital Police is to maintain peace, security, and harmony in the district so that the general public can enjoy the festival fearlessly.Citizens are appealed to cooperate with the police during checking, keep their essential identification/documents with them, and immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police post or control room.Nainital Police
