Strict Action by Nainital SSP: Four Police Officers Punished for Negligence in Investigation,

Nainital. On September 3, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prahlad Narayan Meena conducted a meeting with all police investigators of the district, reviewing pending investigations and cracking down on negligence by taking strong disciplinary measures against four officers.

The SSP issued clear instructions for all investigators to handle missing persons cases with utmost seriousness and ensure that all data related to these cases are updated on relevant portals. Officers were warned that unnecessary delays and negligence in investigations would invite stringent punitive action. SSP Meena emphasized the need to complete court-related proceedings and documentation on time, including maintaining comprehensive case diaries.

For gross negligence, Sub-Inspector Harjeet Singh Rana and Additional Sub-Inspector Satyapal Singh were suspended. Sub-Inspector Mohammad Yunus and Sub-Inspector Tara Singh Rana were sent to police lines. The SSP warned all officers that any future carelessness in investigation would face strict accountability and immediate action.

The meeting was attended by SP Crime/Traffic Dr. Jagdish Chandra, Lal Kuan CO Deep Shikha Agarwal, Haldwani CO Nitin Lohani, Ramnagar CO Sumit Pandey, and other district investigators. Officers were instructed that any absence or negligence during court hearings would also result in stern disciplinary action
