Haldwani,,,Remembers the Sacrifice and Valor of Brave WarriorsUrges Every Citizen to Contribute to Nation’s Progress by Following Rules, Hard Work, and DedicationPress NoteDecember 16, 1971, marked India’s victory over Pakistan, and today, on December 16, 2025, Vijay Diwas is being celebrated across the country.To honor the valor and sacrifice of the Indian Army’s brave soldiers who were the heroes of this historic victory, the Vijay Diwas event was observed with great reverence and respect at the War Memorial in Haldwani, Nainital district.Paying tribute to the nation’s brave warriors, Dr. Manjunath T.C., Senior Superintendent of Police, Nainital, visited the War Memorial today, saluted the brave martyrs, and offered floral tributes. Recalling the sacrifices of these warriors, he stated that Vijay Diwas symbolizes the pinnacle of the army’s soldiers’ courage, unwavering dedication, and valor. On this very day in 1971, brave soldiers laid down their lives for the nation, not only thwarting the enemy’s intentions and proudly hoisting the Tricolor but also upholding human values, leading to a historic change on the world map—Eastern Pakistan became independent Bangladesh with India’s victory in the war. The entire country will forever take pride in the valor of these brave warriors.He added that the tireless hard work and dedication of the Defense Forces deployed on the borders to protect our society is an invaluable contribution. We must study history and draw inspiration from the sacrifices of these brave martyrs to live for the nation. Every citizen should perform their duties by following rules, enabling the country’s progress and advancement.👉 The program began with floral wreaths offered to the soldiers martyred in the 1971 India-Pakistan War at the martyrs’ memorial, followed by a guard of honor salute by the police. Then, a two-minute silence was observed in memory of the martyred soldiers, and Veer Naris/families of martyred soldiers were honored with shawls and symbolic mementos.During the program: Martyred soldier dependents Smt.
