Governor’s Visit to Disaster-Hit Areas in Uttarakhand, Reviews Relief Efforts

Uttarkashi District, : lft Gen,,Gurmeet Singh (Retd.), Governor of Uttarakhand, visited the disaster-affected areas of Dharali and Mukhba in Uttarkashi district on Monday. He inspected the ongoing relief and security operations and met with the affected families, assuring them of all possible support.

In Mukhba, the Governor received detailed information from district administration, army, NDRF, SDRF, and other security agencies about the progress of disaster management, relief, and security measures. He directed officials to prepare a comprehensive and long-term plan for assisting and rehabilitating the affected families so that they can return to normal life at the earliest.

The Governor appreciated the coordination among the district administration, security forces, and other agencies involved in the relief work. He specially praised the personnel of the 14 Rajputana Regiment, who, despite being affected by the disaster themselves, actively contributed to relief and rescue operations. He described this as an inspiring example of humanity, courage, and duty.

The Governor assured the affected families that the state government and administration stand firmly with them in this crisis and remain committed to providing full support. Efforts to accelerate relief and rehabilitation work will continue earnestly.
