Haldwani: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Haldwani has successfully concluded the auction process for fancy vehicle registration numbers under the UK04AR series. This auction attracted significant interest from vehicle owners eager to secure unique and prestigious numbers.

The highest bids for the fancy numbers are as follows:

• Registration number UK04AR0009 fetched ₹5,07,000
• Registration number UK04AR0007 fetched ₹3,31,000
• Registration number UK04AR0003 fetched ₹1,57,000
• Registration number UK04AR0004 fetched ₹91,000
• Registration number UK04AR0005 fetched ₹56,000
• Registration number UK04AR0006 fetched ₹46,000
• Registration number UK04AR0008 fetched ₹55,000

Dr. Gurdev, Regional Transport Officer, stated that the auction has generated substantial revenue for the state government, highlighting strong demand for fancy numbers among vehicle owners. The process was conducted online through the official vehicle registration portal, ensuring transparency and wide participation.

Fancy numbers, also known as VIP numbers, offer vehicle owners a way to personalize their vehicles with desirable registration numbers such as consecutively repeating digits or memorable sequences. The RTO holds these e-auctions periodically to allot such numbers, which are highly sought after and come at a premium price.

Dr. Gurdev added that such auctions are expected to continue in the future, providing vehicle owners opportunities to choose special numbers and increasing government revenue.
