Empowering Women, Healthy Families Health Fortnight Begins in Nainital

Nainital, September 17: On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, the “Empowering Women, Healthy Families Health Fortnight” has commenced in Nainital district from September 17 to October 2. The program aims to provide free health services to women and the general public.A large health camp was inaugurated today at the Base Hospital in Haldwani by former Union Minister and Nainital MP Ajay Bhatt. He emphasized the importance of women’s health, stating that the health of the nation depends on the health of its women, who constitute half of the country’s population.Under this fortnight-long initiative, a total of 162 health camps will be organized across the state, including three major camps in Nainital district. These camps will offer free medical examinations, treatment, ultrasound, and X-ray facilities.Chief Medical Officer Dr. H.C. Pant reported that on the first day alone, health services were provided to 8,491 people free of cost. The health fortnight will continue until October 2, ensuring free health check-ups and treatment throughout the district.MP Ajay Bhatt added that this service fortnight, coinciding with the Prime Minister’s birthday, spreads a message of service and ensures that maximum people benefit from it.District Health Committee, Nainital
