HALDWANI, 22 September:
Commissioner/Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Deepak Rawat, inaugurated the State Level School Football Tournament 2025 (Under–19 Boys/Girls category) at the Mini Stadium, Haldwani, on Monday. Teams from all 13 districts are competing in this three-day event.Welcoming the players, Rawat said, “Such tournaments give excellent exposure to young talents who can bring laurels to the state, nationally and internationally.” He highlighted that all works at the Mini Stadium have been completed in a time-bound manner as per the CM’s announcement, and development to further modernize it continues so larger events can also be hosted here.Noting the recent achievements of Uttarakhand footballers in the National Games, Rawat called it a proud moment for the state. He instructed officials to provide all necessary facilities to players in the hostel and urged athletes to report any inconvenience without hesitation.Match Results:
Boys: Dehradun Sports College beat Pauri 4–0, Sports College Pithoragarh beat Dehradun 4–2, Nainital defeated Pauri 2–0.
Girls: Pithoragarh beat Dehradun 9–0, Nainital beat Udham Singh Nagar 4–0.The event was attended by Chief Education Officer G.R. Jaiswal, District Education Officers Pushkar Lal Tamta and H.B. Chand, Block Education Officer Tara Singh, and several dignitaries and trainers, along with a large gathering of players.
