Commissioner Deepak Rawat Conducts Field Inspection of Damaged Roads in Haldwani, Directs Swift Repairs,

Haldwani, August 25, 2025 (News Update) – Commissioner/Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Deepak Rawat undertook a field inspection of damaged roads in Haldwani city on Monday, accompanied by officials from Loni.Vi., Bridkul, and the Water Supply Department. He directed officers to prioritize pothole repairs urgently using alternative methods during the monsoon season, as conventional asphalt works are not feasible during rains.

During the inspection near the newly constructed Roadways Bus Station at Kathgodam, water seepage and drinking water line leakages were identified as causes of road damage. Commissioner Rawat instructed the Water Supply Department’s Superintending Engineer to immediately fix the leakages and ordered the bus station contractors to divert the water into a proper drainage system.

Officials assured expedited pothole repairs on the Devalchaur intersection and Teepinagar roads. Additionally, all district magistrates in the Kumaon division were instructed to regularly monitor damaged roads and ensure timely pothole repairs and permanent restoration after the monsoon ends.

The inspection was attended by City Magistrate Gopal Singh Chauhan, Water Supply Department Superintending Engineer Vishal Saxena, Executive Engineer of Loni.Vi. Pratyush Kumar, and officials from Bridkul.

This initiative aligns with the state government’s directive via video conferencing to make all roads pothole-free, enhancing commuters’ safety and convenience across the region.

This news highlights the proactive steps taken by the Uttarakhand administration to repair and maintain urban road infrastructure in Haldwani amid challenging monsoon conditions.
