,Neelkanth Form of Mahadev Teaches Swallowing Selfish Poisons – Dr. Sarveshwa

Haldwani,,,,Only by Loving All Creatures Can We Attain Lord Neelkanth’s Grace” – Dr. Sarveshwar Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan is organizing a grand seven-day Bhagwan Shiv Katha from January 29 to February 4, 2026, at M.B. Inter College Ground, Canal Road, Haldwani. The sessions run daily from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.On the second day of the katha, Dr. Sarveshwar Ji, disciple of Divya Guru Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, narrated the Samudra Manthan episode. He explained that when the deadly Halahal Kalakoot poison emerged from the churning of the ocean, Lord Shiva swallowed it for the welfare of the world, earning the name Neelkanth.Elucidating the essence of the katha, Swami Ji said Shiva’s Neelkanth form inspires us to embrace sacrifice and tolerance in life. As Shiva devotees, our duty is to learn to “swallow poison”—rising above personal selfishness to contribute to global welfare, journeying from “I” to “we.” Regrettably, today’s humans stab others in the back for self-interest without hesitation. Not just people—even speechless animals and birds suffer. For fleeting tongue pleasures, thousands of lives are slaughtered daily. Butcher shops worldwide, equipped with modern machines, mercilessly kill millions in minutes. We claim to be Mahadev’s devotees, yet forget that He is also Pashupatinath, Lord of all creatures. Can we please Pashupatinath by slaughtering animals? A true devotee avoids harming others, renouncing petty selfish desires. For him, the supreme asana is ‘assurance’ given to the needy; the finest yoga is ‘cooperation’ extended to all beings; and the deepest breath is ‘faith’ offered to tearful eyes. We must cultivate compassion, love, sacrifice, and mercy within. This is possible only through Brahm Gyan, attaining the vision of Neelkanth in our inner self.On this occasion, the katha pandal celebrated Maha Shivratri festival with great fervor, where devotees danced joyfully.Attendees included: Jasneet Singh, Kavita Kaur, Ankit Sharma, Geeta Balutia, Vipin Gupta, Diksha Gupta, Shiv Kumar, Rajendra Dhami, Devkaran Ji (former Chairman, Rampur), Renu Adhikari (Minister of State), Om Prabhakar, Sangeeta, Mahendra.
