Pavneet Singh bindra

Nainital,,Kamlesh Mahtolia, a resident of Pahadpani in Dhari block of Nainital district, has emerged as a powerful example of Atmanirbhar Bharat today. After completing his engineering diploma, he worked in Gujarat, but his attachment to his village, parents, and land inspired him to return home.
Upon returning to the village, he resolved to do something new beyond traditional farming. During this time, he received a loan of about 14 lakh rupees through the Horticulture Department under the Uttarakhand government’s welfare schemes. This financial support laid a strong foundation for realizing his dreams.
With government aid, Kamlesh transformed barren land into fertile fields and started modern flower and fruit farming. His efforts, which began on 10 nali of land, have now expanded to advanced flower cultivation across 40 nali, including Lilium along with Oriental and Asiatic varieties.
The demand for his flowers is rapidly growing not only in Nainital district but also in other districts. Additionally, he has strengthened his business by cultivating cash crops like apples, kiwi, and strawberries on 30 nali of land.
Kamlesh Mahtolia’s initiative has also created new employment opportunities in the area. Today, his business provides permanent jobs to 8 to 10 local people. After deducting all expenses, he earns about 2 lakh rupees per month, a result of his hard work and proper guidance.
Kamlesh credits his success to the Uttarakhand government’s schemes and the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, expressing heartfelt gratitude. He said that without government support and guidance, establishing a business at this level would not have been possible.
Government Initiative as the Foundation:
The state government’s efforts to promote self-employment and agriculture-based schemes are yielding positive results on the ground today. Financial assistance and technical guidance through the Horticulture Department are motivating youth towards self-reliance.
Kamlesh’s success shows that if youth leverage government schemes and innovate, they can not only strengthen their economic position but also contribute to society and the state’s development by providing jobs to others.
In the coming time, Kamlesh is working to expand his business further and adopt modern techniques to take production and marketing to new heights.
